About PressF1

My Story

Hi! My name is Ashley (or Ash for short), and I've been watching F1 since the age of 4. Now, over 22 years later, I'm still a huge fan!

Like so many today, I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on F1, from racing analysis, decisions that are made and impacts on the industry!

By creating this blog, I aim to present my thoughts in an authentic and thought-provoking manner for readers with similar interests or people are new to the sport and want some insights!

What Started PressF1

I've always enjoyed talking about F1 and presenting my thoughts. I've found in the last few years that posting on a blog has been my best way of doing so!

I've had the pleasure for writing for other blog sites, such as DriveTribe and Read Motorsport, but I know that by having my own blog, I am able to present my own thoughts and ideas whilst simultaneously learning how to grow a blog site.

Believe it or not, this is actually the third different blog I have created! I learned a lot from the first two and wanted to use the lessons I learned to create a better blog experience for myself and for readers!

As mentioned earlier, this blog aims to express my thoughts and opinions in the best way I know how to. It is also a learning experience for me in terms of developing knowledge of motorsports as well as my own personal development.

All in all, the blog is for a bit of fun but I hope my insights may be valuable for new and existing motorsport fans.

FAQs

How did you become interested in Formula 1?

I grew up watching F1 with my parents. At the time, F1 was on ITV and we spent our Sunday's watching F1 with either a Roast Dinner or a Chinese. I loved watching it for the adrenaline, the noise and the competition, but it was also a lovely way to spend time as a family.

Naturally, my interest continued and expanded. As time went on, I begun to grow interested in the strategic, technical, financial and commercial areas of the motorsport industry. The adrenaline and competitive nature of motorsport still exists, but getting to explore different avenues of F1 has always fascinated me!

What is your earliest memory of watching Formula 1?

I always believe it is the 2002 Monaco Grand Prix. There may have been races I watched earlier than that but it always is that race that comes to mind. Watching the Ferrari climb up the hill for the first time and being mesmorised by a scarlet red car. It's probably why I have a soft spot for Monaco and I always hope it remains on the calender (an unpopular opinion, of course).

Who is your all-time favorite Formula 1 driver and why?

An all-time favourite driver? Gosh, that's a tough one.

I grew up in the Michael Schumacher/Ferrari era and loved watching him win, so I was a huge Schumacher fan growing up. Nowadays, there isn't a particular driver I would say is my all-time favourite.

What inspired you to start your own Formula 1 blog?

I wanted a platform where I could share my own opinions and thoughts on something I enjoyed, rather than witholding them to myself. There are many media forms out there, but I felt a blog was where I felt more confident and comofortable. I made my first blog post a number of years ago and have been doing them every now and again since.

What do you love most about Formula 1?

I think what I enjoy is that there is a lot of strategy and data analysis of all different scenarios in F1. Not just in terms of analysing races, but other areas of F1 as well. These can include regulation changes, financial implications, driver markets and other outside factors. All of this makes F1 an interesting corporation to understand and analyse.
